The convention committee will do their best to prioritize day tour assignments but please note that tour preferences are not guaranteed. All attendees will be assigned to one day tour.

Old San Juan Walk & Taste Tour

We believe the best way to experience a destination is to indulge in its culinary specialties! Start your day with a guided San Juan food and city tour rolled into one and eat, drink, and learn as you walk through our 500-year-old Spanish colonial city. Move at a relaxed pace along historic cobblestone streets and discover Puerto Rican Culture through gastronomy, history, and architecture. On your food and culture tour, you’ll taste several Puerto Rican delicacies over the course of five stops. Start by sampling single-origin coffee from the mountains of Puerto Rico and traditional local pastries. Taste the most delicious mofongo (the Island’s quintessential dish), savor locally seasoned pork and Puerto Rico’s best rice & beans, and enjoy a homemade dessert crafted with all natural ingredients, and much more! A refreshing rum cocktail is paired with your meal. You’ll get much more than just bites; our tastings are generous, giving you a real taste for Puerto Rican food and leaving you full and satisfied. You’ll also catch a glimpse of El Morro Fort and see the second oldest cathedral in the Americas, a centuries-old convent, stunning architecture, historic fortifications, and many other sites of cultural significance. Our guides are fun, entertaining, and full of knowledge about Puerto Rican history and culture.

Activity Level: Mild (Consistent walking). Must be able to stand or walk for 3 hours through stairs, uphill, downhill, and uneven terrain. Any food allergy, dietary preference, or restriction should be notified previous to the time of the tour.

Old San Juan History Walking Tour 

We’ve designed this tour for culture and history enthusiasts who like to get up close to the sites and examine the past first-hand. Knowledgeable step-aboard guides will take your party to Old San Juan-the oldest city in the U.S. There, they’ll be able to stroll through Old Spanish cathedrals and forts such as San Cristobal, where they’ll see and learn how the Spanish built and defended their city.

Ron Barrilito Mixology 

Improve your bartending game with interactive classes taught by superstar mixologists who will show you how to make show-stopping cocktails. Experience the intimate experience of learning from the best bartenders while getting the chance to sip your own creations. An experience that is recommended to the knowledgeable and the novices to the delicacy that rum is.

Rainforest Foothills and Beach Tour 

Walk by the banks of a beautiful River, cool down in its natural river pool, and get to know the foothills of the rainforest. Your tour includes a 1-hour stop at private land in the foothills of the rainforest. At this location, you will enjoy an easy 10–15-minute natural walk and a 45-minute opportunity to swim in a beautiful rainforest river. Then, visit Luquillo Beach and sunbathe at one of the most spectacular beaches in Puerto Rico. Kiosks stop for lunch on own.

Chocolate Tour 

Calling all chocolate and farm to table lovers! Come explore a chocolate estate whose mission is to promote sustainable and accessible farming in Puerto Rico. Cacao 360 specializes in the cultivation of the Puerto Rican and Caribbean Chocolate Tree, known for its bright citrus notes. Take a guided walk through their nursery and see how this worldwide favorite starts out its life and taste the difference of highquality hot chocolate. After, come see their farm to table come to life at Cacaú Chocolate Bistro and enjoy a lunch with exclusive indepth details on the elaboration process of each dish given by the Head Chef. Enjoy a parting gift to take back home to enjoy!

Guavate Tour 

Immerse yourself in the breath-taking mountains or the center of Puerto Rico. Come see and experience Puerto Rico’s Pork Capital and visit the first lechonera; see a humble artisan’s magnificent homage to our traditional holiday figures, the Three Kings! Experience the refreshing waters of Charco Azul (Blue Pond), a serene natural river pool and enjoy reconnecting with nature. Take fantastic pictures with the mountain as your backdrop

Activity Level: Low to moderate. Participants must be able to endure walking
for 20 minutes

Time: 6: 45 am – 4:00 pm 

Catamaran 

Sail aboard a 47’ catamaran, the Barefoot IV, and enjoy an amazing experience. Bask in the majestic Caribbean waters, explore reefs and an inhabited island (Icacos), soak up the sun, maybe dance some salsa or reggaeton, sip tropical drinks with local rum, disconnect, and recharge.

The Art Walk at Calle Cerra

Guided art walk through the murals at La Calle Cerra (Cerra Street). Santurce has world-class street art and hosts the Santurce es Ley street art festival every year. Explore the murals in Calle Cerra, striking large-scale work by local and international artists like D’Face ( London), Fintan Magee (Australia) Bik Ismo (Puerto Rico), David Zayas (Puerto Rico), Ana Marietta (Puerto Rico) Evaristo Angurria (Dom. Rep), Danae Brissonet (Canada) among others. A knowledgeable art walk will give you history and insight about La Calle Cerra and provide information about the murals such as pertinent information about the artists, explanation of the inspiration behind the paintings, and teachings of techniques used for the realization of the murals. Maybe even spot one of the elusive artists at work! After the tour, you can relax and soak in the culture of this amazing neighborhood at one of several great restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Sips & Salsa Experience

In this fun and interactive class, you will learn how to create the perfect Mojito and Shaken Piña Colada while learning about the history of these cocktails as well as some cool bar tricks and skills. You’ll start with a welcome cocktail at the Pavilion, visit the BACARDÍ Family Museum, and discover our history and the craft of making the world’s most-awarded rum. Then, a BACARDÍ specialist will lead you through mixing two classic rum cocktails. After a Puerto Rican lunch at La Placita de Santurce, get ready to participate in a fun and high-energy Salsa class. So, pack your dancing shoes and get ready to Salsa!

Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba Workshop

Enjoy an immersive cultural experience at Parque Historico Cueva Maria de La Cruz in Loiza, a town just east of San Juan, on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, and it is one of the earliest-settled areas on the island. Learn the basic steps of Bomba and its cultural significance. Bomba was brought to Puerto Rico by enslaved ancestors hundreds of years ago, most of the Island’s cultural expressions evolve from it. Bomba is a cultural expression that evokes feelings of joy, sadness, passion and spirituality. During the workshop you will witness this incredible exchange between the Bomba dancer and Bomba drummer. You will also have the opportunity to participate and feel the powerful connection with Bomba as you are lead through the basic steps by a passionate bomba dancer. An unforgettable experience!

Cafe Hacienda Munoz Walking Tour

Hacienda Muñoz in San Lorenzo is home to Café Hacienda Muñoz. A first-place specialty coffee winner for three consecutive years at the Best Coffee People’s Choice Award at the Coffee and Chocolate Expo. Take a walking tour of the hacienda where you’ll learn about Puerto Rico’s coffee history as well as modern methods for grow, processing, and roasting coffee. The tour ends with a tasting of Hacienda Muñoz’s specialty coffee. After the tour, you will enjoy a hearty, traditional lunch at the hacienda’s restaurant.

Puerto Rican Cooking Class at Atelier

Our class provides an authentic “hands on” cooking experience. Learn about our Cocina Criolla as you prepare a 3 course Puerto Rican meal. This fun learning experience is led by a top professional private chef, includes a welcome cocktail from our private bar, student apron, educational literature, top of the line cooking equipment and ingredients.
