Bill Muster
Since 1981, the Society of American Travel Writers has honored the finest travel photography in the SATW Muster Photo Competition (formerly the Bill Muster Photo Showcase). As travel and travel photography have evolved, so have the awards, which are presented at SATW's annual convention.
Honors are currently given in Natural Scenics, Cultural, People, Action, Animals, and overall Portfolio categories.
The competition has been associated since its inception with the name of Bill Muster, an SATW pioneer whose generosity has supported recognition of outstanding achievements in travel photography.
