Annual Convention The SATW annual convention alternates
domestic and international destinations

October 2020  | #SATWMKE – NOW ALL VIRTUAL

We all long for the time when the “old normal” becomes the “new normal.” It seems that will take longer than most of us hoped or imagined. In light of the recent spike in COVID cases, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel our in-person convention in October in Milwaukee.

The good news is that the show will go on — in an online format. While we won’t be able to exchange physical hugs, we’ll be sharing plenty of virtual greetings, hoisting cocktails and celebrating our annual Bill Muster and Lowell Thomas Awards between keynote speakers, Professional Development sessions and Marketplace.

To avoid conflicts with Canadian Thanksgiving, we plan to shift our convention dates slightly. As previously announced, we will invite travel communicators who are not SATW members to join us at slightly higher cost.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to convention co-chairs Laurie Armstrong Gossy and Chez Chesak, and PD chair Catharine Hamm, who have deftly pivoted from one format to the next. A full agenda will be posted in the next few weeks. We promise this will not be just another webinar!

Best of all, we are planning for Milwaukee in 2021. We hope to come to an agreement on dates in the coming days and will share them as soon as we have them.

If you have already registered for the in-person convention, your registration fee will be 100% refunded within the next 10 business days. You will need to register separately for the virtual event below by clicking the Register Here button.
