At my first SATW event in Denver several years ago, I made it my goal to get involved. I had been living abroad, and travel writing felt like a lonely occupation. I didn’t know anyone, and I didn’t really know what the SATW was all about.
So I joined SATW, and I volunteered. Since acting on that goal, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know so many of you and experiencing how the SATW works for myself. It’s my goal now as Membership Chair to continue bringing in the best travel storytellers from our industry, and encouraging them to get involved in this career-changing organization.
If this past year has proven anything, it’s that we’re stronger collectively than we are alone. We are nothing without our members. It has been an honor serving the SATW over the past year, and I look forward to continuing the work as we all start packing our suitcases again.
