2021-2022 Eastern Chapter Candidates

Chair

Caroline Eubanks

For those that don’t know me, I’m Caroline Eubanks, the current Second Vice Chair and a writer and digital publisher. I’m the author of This Is My South: The Essential Travel Guide to the Southern States and a travel website of the same name, thisismysouth.com. Both won Lowell Thomas awards. I’ve also been published by Travel + Leisure, Southern Living, Mental Floss, and Roadtrippers.

I’m a proud member of the Eastern Chapter for the past few years. I really got to know the society through these meetings, making new friends and colleagues. For the last year, I’ve served as the Second Vice Chair as we navigated this crazy time, setting up the professional development for the Oklahoma City meeting that, unfortunately, was canceled. I also produced some of the sessions for the organization’s very first virtual conference.

As someone who is involved in both traditional and digital media, I would like to work to help the organization continue to reach both parties. I’d like to continue to focus on increasing our membership and leading our chapter into the next phase of our organization. I’ve worked closely with the current board for the past year and feel confident in its inner workings. I appreciate your consideration in this decision.

First Vice Chair

Membership in SATW brings many benefits: great networking, professional development and the notoriety that naturally comes with belonging to this prestigious organization. Having been a member for just over two years now, I’ve decided the time has come to give back to the network.

For this reason, I am seeking the board office of 1st Vice Chair for the Eastern Chapter. Should I be elected, I will proudly represent the SATW Eastern Chapter and strive to provide excellent service to meet the needs of my fellow members.

Second Vice Chair

Jen Ruiz

I am thrilled to introduce myself for the position of SATW Eastern Chapter Second Vice Chair for the upcoming election. I am a lawyer turned full-time travel blogger and author. My work has been featured in outlets like the Washington Post, Matador Network and AFAR.

I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to SATW in a meaningful way. I am prepared to participate actively in my role as we facilitate a path back to travel and respectfully ask for your support. Thank you for your consideration.

Associate-at-Large

Suzanne Wenz

The past year has been a challenging and difficult one for many industries, especially travel. As the travel industry begins its recovery, I hope to be able to continue with my position on the SATW Eastern Chapter Board. It has been an enriching and enjoyable experience and, if elected, I will look forward to continuing to support the activities and initiatives of our chapter and its members.

With more than 25 years of travel and hospitality communications experience, I have a strong understanding of and passion for the industry. I am proud to be a member of the group of professionals that makes up SATW. Thank you for your consideration.
