Description

The Big Bend Loop Tour will give an overview of the “Tri-County” section of Big Bend including the unique characteristics of the core towns in the area like:

– Marfa – with its unique art scene and world renowned Chinati Foundation established by minimalist New York artist Donald Judd,
– Fort Davis – with one of the country’s best-preserved frontier forts and the 2nd largest telescope of its kind in the world at McDonald Observatory plus the breathtaking Davis Mountains State Park,
– Alpine – home to Sul Ross State University and the Museum of the Big Bend along with a vibrant nightlife and unique accommodations including the historic Holland Hotel,
– Marathon – a historic ranching area with the Gage Hotel anchoring this quaint town of 450 that heralds itself as the “Gateway to the Big Bend.”
